World AIDS Day – 2023
Every year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with and affected by HIV and to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS. The world can end AIDS, with communities leading the way. Let Communities Lead, UNAIDS reveals that the world can end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030, but only if communities are fully included and are sufficiently funded to lead the way.
This World AIDS Day is more than a celebration of the achievements of communities; it is a call to action to enable and support communities in their leadership roles. World AIDS Day 2023 will highlight that to unleash the full potential of community leadership to enable the end of AIDS.
On this World AIDS Day, December 1st, 2023, an awareness Programme was organized by department of microbiology for the public. The program was started by conducting awareness to the public regarding the disease modes of transmission, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and preventive measures in IP and OP block by Dr. Rashmi RK, Assistant Professor. The participants were given sweets and juice for their enthusiastic involvement and participation in the activity.
Around 50 people participated in the program and was a successful awareness event.
