World Antimicrobial Awareness Week – 2023

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is a global campaign that is celebrated annually from 18th to 24th November to improve awareness and understanding of AMR and encourage best practices among the public, Health care workers and policymakers, who all play a critical role in reducing the further emergence and spread of AMR.
World antimicrobial awareness week was celebrated in Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College, Hospital & Research Institute from November 18th to 24th 2023, under the theme “Preventing the antimicrobial resistance together” organized by Department of Microbiology.
Organising Chairperson: Dr. Yashaswini MK, Prof and Head. Organising Secretary: Dr. Megha S, Infection Control Officer. Organizing committee: Dr. Shilpa A, Dr. Rashmi and Dr. Pallavi.
On Day 1 18th Nov 2023 of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week – Posters competition was organized for 1st year MBBS students. Around 10 students’ participated and 4 posters were made by them related to the theme and emphasizing on the need of awareness. The posters was judged by Dr. Vasnth Kumar, Prof & Head, Dep of OBG and the winners was announced.
